The position (upright, reversed) and orientation of each rune further complicates the interpretation, adding layers that show the physical, emotional, and spiritual state of the querent.

Similarly, the nine-world spread taps into the Norse cosmology of the World Tree, Yggdrasil, with each rune representing different realms of existence—Midgard for the physical world, Asgard for spiritual authority, and so forth. This allows practitioners to delve into multifaceted aspects of a person’s situation, examining how actions resonate across various realms of their life.
