A Guide to the Seven Planes of Magickal Manifestation

1. Redefining Magick for the Modern Age

Magick isn’t a hobby for the bored, a superstition for the weak-minded, or a mere technology for the greedy. Magick is the art, science, and culture of experiencing truth. It is a radical, exploratory assault on the nature of existence through direct, personal experience.

Western culture committed intellectual suicide during the Enlightenment. By canonizing Rationalism, we “timed out” every dimension of reality that couldn’t be measured by a ruler or weighed on a scale. We reduced ourselves to meat robots in a dead universe, dismissing profound experiences as mere “hallucinations.” Magickal practice is the reclamation of these lost dimensions. It is the shift from being a passive victim of a reductionist material world to becoming an active participant in a multi-layered reality. To practice magick is to stop observing life and start experiencing the Truth.

2. The Boundaries of the Possible: Available Means of Manifestation

Beginners often whine that their rituals “failed” because they didn’t understand the game rules. Magickal results are always governed by the “available means of manifestation.” Magick doesn’t fail; it simply manifests where the environment allows it. Success is a matter of choosing the right plane for your intent.

  • The Superman Limitation: If you perform a ritual to “fly like Superman,” the physical plane lacks the available means to support human flight. Consequently, the result will manifest in the astral or dream plane, where the “rules” allow for it.
  • The Medium Requirement: If you want to converse with a non-physical entity but have neglected your visionary faculty, you must provide a physical medium. Without a pendulum, a diary, or a friend’s body to act as a vehicle, you have denied the entity a means to speak.

Intent + Available Means = Result. While the physical world is visceral, it is not “more real” than any other plane. The totality of your experience is the true playground for magickal results.

3. The Multi-Layered Universe: The Seven Planes of Experience

Reality is a stack of seven overlapping planes. The first six are realms of relative and subjective reality; the seventh is the only Absolute Truth.

  1. The Physical Plane: The arena of the five senses and consensual events. Visceral, but limited.
  2. The Emotional Plane: The private world of subjective feelings.
  3. The Mental Plane: The level of thoughts, cognitive frameworks, and internal dialogues.
  4. The Astral Plane: The realm of dreams and imagination. Accessible via lucid dreaming (consciousness while asleep) or astral projection (dreaming while awake).
  5. The Etheric Plane: The interface between body and mind. The realm of subtle energetics (Prana, Chi, Orgone), accessed through specific breathwork (pranayama) and posture.
  6. The Metaphysical Plane: The level of profound, mystical experience that transcends the previous five.
  7. The Non-Dual Plane: The ultimate mystery where “experiencer” and “experience” dissolve. This is the Truth with a capital T. It is the only level that is absolute and objective; all others are merely shallow, relative features.

4. The Metaphysical Process: States and Stages

Engaging the Metaphysical Plane requires two distinct technical approaches:

  • States of Absorption: Contracting awareness into a single focus—a mantra, sexual excitement, or “gnosis.” These are trances you enter and exit.
  • Stages of Insight: Expanding awareness to encompass all immediate sensations as they arise and pass (e.g., Vipassana). This initiates a cyclical, transformative process.

The Process of Insight follows a predictable, dangerous cycle:

  • The Plateau: This is the trap of “Naive Enlightenment.” It is characterized by bliss, visions of light, and the arrogant belief that you have “reached the end.” It is merely the first step.
  • The Trough: The “Dark Night of the Soul.” Practice becomes a slog through fear, disgust, and psychosis. Many get stuck here because they don’t realize it is a necessary phase of digestion.
  • The Peak: Equanimity. You make peace with perception, culminating in a direct insight into the Non-Dual absolute.

5. From Support to Core: The Magician’s Path

Magickal techniques are not created equal.

Support Practices—sigils, divination, and evocation—are the bread and butter of the dabbler. They are essential for learning to manipulate the “available means” and securing material results, but they are not the goal.

The Core Practice of the Western tradition is the Invocation of the Holy Guardian Angel (HGA). The HGA is the embodiment of your future magical self and the non-dual plane. It is the “Guru par excellence.” Contact with the HGA, known as “Knowledge and Conversation,” is the Prime Focus of the Great Work. Once achieved, the HGA provides direct instruction, rendering all other magick ten times more effective. This is the only way to move from mere sorcery into actual mastery.

6. Aeonics: The Evolution of a Magical World

“Aeonics” is the application of the initiatory process to the entire planet. Just as the individual evolves, so does the collective.

The prophecies surrounding the “end of the world”—including the 2012 Mayan Long Count—do not predict the destruction of the planet. They predict the “end of what currently manifests.” We are witnessing a shift in consensual reality where the reductionist, materialist narrative is dying. The “future magical world” isn’t a world where everyone wears velvet robes; it is a world where consciousness is understood as the primary driver of experience, and magick becomes the dominant available means of manifestation.

7. Taking Responsibility for Reality

The transition from a “dabbler” to a “serious magician” happens the moment you stop playing with toys and start taking responsibility for your entire existence. Magick teaches you that you can remake your history, seize control of your environment, and dictate your future.

However, reading this manifesto is useless if you remain an armchair philosopher. Explanation is a corpse; only experience is alive. Intellectual comprehension is a facade that leads nowhere. To know the Truth, you must perform the experiment of practice. Step out of the cage of causality and take responsibility for what you find. The Truth is waiting—are you bold enough to experience it?
